Visit to the lost city of UBAR ( missing Bedouins city ) -Lost city’ of ubar, an ancient site where remains of the city were discovered in 1992, by archaeologists using remote sensing equipment. ubar is believed to have been populated from 2800 bc too about 300 ad and to have been at one time an important trading center for frankincense before it was buried in the rising dunes. There is a small museum at the site displaying archaeological discoveries.
Drive through the spectacular al hasman (fasad) sand dunes , that are more than 200 meters in height, The spectacular dunes display their changing colors running together in great impenetrable ranks and towering with vast smooth slopes and wafer-thin like ridges.
Watching amazing sunset from the the top of the dunes, your guide will set up the camp for overnight and Prepare dinner.
Morning after breakfast (prepaid by your guide) continues exploring the desert for 2 hours.
The next day of the trip, after breakfast there will be plenty of time to enjoy taking more photos from the upper sand dunes, the journey continues for two hours to explore the beauty of the Empty Quarter, and on the way back to Salalah we will pass to visit the frankincense reserve in Wadi Duqa UNESCO) (unesco world heritage site) known as the ‘frankincense wadi.
